The state heritage listed Burnside Ballroom is located adjacent to the City of Burnside Civic Centre and is a unique stand-alone venue providing a charming atmosphere for a variety of functions and events. The State Government’s Heritage Places Database lists the significance of the Ballroom as "an excellent example of a 1950s interior demonstrating characteristics of a modernist design. There are no other known examples of this style of civic interior intact". Built in 1954, the Burnside Ballroom offers a spacious ground floor and mezzanine level, entrance foyer, ladies' powder rooms and gentlemen’s cloak rooms, bar areas on both levels and a well-equipped ground floor kitchen. The venue also features a stage and seating booths with tables along the eastern and western walls.
