Burnside Ballroom

The state heritage listed Burnside Ballroom is located adjacent to the City of Burnside Civic Centre and is a unique stand-alone venue providing a charming atmosphere for a variety of functions and events. The State Government’s Heritage Places Database lists the significance of the Ballroom as "an excellent example of a 1950s interior demonstrating characteristics of a modernist design. There are no other known examples of this style of civic interior intact". Built in 1954, the Burnside Ballroom offers a spacious ground floor and mezzanine level, entrance foyer, ladies' powder rooms and gentlemen’s cloak rooms, bar areas on both levels and a well-equipped ground floor kitchen. The venue also features a stage and seating booths with tables along the eastern and western walls. Performance events, please also inquire about the ‘Corner Room’ which may be available to hire for ‘green room’ purposes.
Note: The Burnside Ballroom is located adjacent to the Burnside Civic Centre on the corner of Greenhill Road and Portrush Road in Tusmore. It is within walking distance to the Burnside Village Shopping Centre and is approximately 10 minutes drive from the Adelaide CBD. The Civic Centre complex is serviced by a number of public transport routes accessible via bus stop 152 on Portrush Road and bus stop 10 on Greenhill Road. The onsite Burnside Civic Centre car park provides non-exclusive access to up to 191 car parks. Overflow parking is available in the adjacent streets. Car parking is free, however, please ensure your members and guests take care to read all signage as parking restrictions may apply.
