Nexus Arts is delighted to announce a 3-show series of contemporary music from 6 of South Australia’s most dynamic and exciting new artists.
The Interplay performance series is the culmination of a yearlong program that in 2024 saw 6 musicians from First Nations and culturally diverse backgrounds take part in one-on-one career guidance, mentorship, and group activities including a week-long creative intensive. The yearlong program aims to bolster creativity, connection, and community in an intercultural and supportive environment.
Saturday 16 November 2024 will feature a performance from Australian Chinese-Malaysian artist Steph Teh. Steph is a multi-instrumentalist and collaborator who creates with cello, guitar, piano, and voice. Steph was recently selected to participate in the 2024 CAAP x Artist Lab during OzAsia. Her music is influenced by pop, jazz, classical, RnB, and soul, and she is working on creating an EP. Steph will be joined by her mentor and Interplay alumni, Elizabeth Ruyi. Drawing from her Australian-Malaysian-Chinese heritage, Ruyi weaves heartfelt stories that captivate audiences with her angelic nature and profound sincerity.
