If your future was a movie, what would the soundtrack be? Create a playlist of songs from film soundtracks of the past and mix them together to represent your vision of the future live from the ART POD. Workshop is facilitated by ART POD resident artist and designer Stavroula Adameitis aka FRIDA LAS VEGAS who will guide you through a mashup of DJ-ing, cinema, art and futurism.

ART POD Artist in Residence | Frida Las Vegas – September 2024 to January 2025

Join artist and designer Stavroula Adameitis aka FRIDA LAS VEGAS to reimagine iconic South Australia symbols through the lens of cult cinema from the 1950s to the 1990s across textiles, digital illustration and animation.

This residency will explore a link between the emotional resonance of Hollywood – the beloved fictional characters, recognisable dialogue, set pieces, costume & production design - and South Australia’s own unique local characters, recognisable catch phrases, public art, and beloved institutions.

This mashup of local ‘pop’ icons with international ‘pop’ icons will celebrate what makes South Australia a truly unique place to be.
