The Adelaide City library presents an Artist Talk with Eric Algra about his City Library exhibition 'Adelaide Babylon'.
Rock photographer Eric Algra began his photographic career in 1978 documenting the local music scene in Adelaide. In this talk he will discuss how it all began and his contribution to Roadrunner magazine, a seminal music paper, as well as his ongoing work with Adelaide musicians supplying photos for album covers and publicity.
Eric will talk about the innovation and excitement of these times, when Adelaide was punching way above its weight in the music world, and share stories behind the photographs of iconic bands such as Exploding White Mice, Redgum, and No Fixed Address.
Eric will also discuss the process of producing his two books, curating hundreds of photographs from his archives for Rock’nRoll City: The Roadrunner Years and Rock’nRoll City, Part Two: Adelaide Babylon.
The talk will include an opportunity for questions and discussion
24th November 6pm at City Library
